I received my PhD from the Spanish National Research Council in 2006 for my work in the synthesis of azasugars though organocatalytic reactions under the supervision of Dr. Alfonso Fernández-Mayoralas. During this period I was also working at the UCLA with Dr. Ken Houk working in understanding the origins of the selectivity of these a reactions. Then, in 2007, after a short Post-Doctoral period I Joined to the Malaria Unit of GSK. Since that date I have worked in different target- based and phenotypic projects. Currently I lead the H2L phase in the Malaria unit. My scientific interest includes Medicinal, computational and organic chemistry.
